Kathy Crothall
Kathy Crothall is Founder, President, and CEO of Animas
Corporation, a privately-held company located in Frazer,
Pennsylvania. Animas manufactures and markets insulin
infusion pumps and other products to help people with
diabetes better manage their condition. Prior to
founding Animas, Kathy was President and CEO of Luxar
Corporation, a company she founded in 1988. In 1996, the
company was sold to ESC Medical. Luxar manufactured and
sold CO2 lasers for cosmetic, oral surgical, dental,
dermatological, and ENT surgical applications. Prior to
Luxar, Kathy was co-founder and President of Laakmann
Electro-Optics; a company that manufactured CO2 lasers
for the medical, aerospace and industrial markets.
Johnson & Johnson acquired Laakmann Electro-Optics in
1981, and she continued to lead the company through
1986. Kathy was employed as an engineer at Hughes
Aircraft from 1971 to 1978. She holds more than 20
patents in the laser, fiber-optic, thermal (infrared)
imaging, and glucose sensing fields. Kathy holds several
patents that are regarded as key patents in these
industries. She has authored numerous technical papers
and has given numerous papers at scientific/medical
symposiums. Kathy received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering from University of
Pennsylvania. Additionally, she obtained her Master of
Science and Doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering
from University of Southern California.
Woody Hertzog
Woody Hertzog is the CEO at Spectralux Corporation, an
avionics solutions provider for the aerospace/defense
industry. He is responsible for the company's strategic
direction and vision. A founder and shareholder of the
company, Woody has more than 40 years experience in
manufacturing, marketing, and management. In addition to
being a board member at Spectralux, he serves a board
member at AvioSupport, an aftermarket parts distributor
to the airline industry; Consolidated Industries, a
private holding company; and The Humane Society of
Seattle and King County, a non-profit organization
specializing in the care of animals. Prior to Spectralux,
Woody served as Vice President of Marketing at Korry
Electronics and served in the same marketing capacity
while at Pacific Systems, a designer and manufacturer of
aircraft entertainment systems. Woody began his career
in the aerospace industry as the Sales Manager at
Farwest Manufacturing Company (now IDD Aerospace), an
aerospace lighting supplier.
Dennis Kaill
As the President and COO of Pharmitas, Dennis brings
more than 17 years of senior leadership experience
within the software and technology sectors to the
Pharmitas team. Prior to joining Pharmitas, Dennis spent
10 years as President/Managing Director of Microscan
Systems, an international bar code technology company,
where he took Microscan from a market and profit share
laggard to a leadership position. Additionally, he has
held senior level positions at software companies FLIR
Systems, Inc. and Optimas Corporation. His business
background is extensive and includes expertise in
strategic sales, marketing, product development,
partnership alliances and international relations. In
2004, Kaill was named one of Seattle's "40 under 40," a
coveted award given to only 40 individuals under the age
of 40 who work toward building the business community's
future and demonstrating dynamic leadership and social
responsibility. Additionally, he engineered a work
environment at Microscan Systems that employees truly
enjoyed, and the company was voted on numerous occasions
a 'best company to work for.' He holds a Bachelor of
Science from Oregon State University and a Masters of
Business Administration from Cornell University.
Chris Parsons
Chris Parsons is the Founder and CEO at Pharmitas, Inc.
and responsible for the overall business and product
development of the company. He has a strong background
in both technology and product development, with more
than 15 years of experience launching innovative
technology products and services. Prior to Pharmitas,
Chris worked at Apple, a leader in developing
award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife
and professional applications. Additionally, he was the
President and Founder of E-Quest, Inc., a software
solutions provider for the resort industry. Chris holds
a Bachelors degree from Pacific Lutheran University.
Jordan Weisman
Jordan Weisman is the Founder and CEO at Smith & Tinker,
Inc., an interactive entertainment company creating
products which move seamlessly, back and forth from
online to offline media, and immersing and linking like
audiences to communities around the world. Smith &
Tinker has licensed the electronic entertainment rights
to Crimson Skies, Shadowrun, MechWarrior and other FASA
properties from Microsoft. Jordan has been the creative
and motivating force behind the founding and success of
a number of entertainment companies, including: FASA
Corporation (role-playing games), Virtual World
Entertainment (the world's first public networked
virtual reality entertainment centers) acquired by the
Disney Family in 1992, FASA Interactive (PC games,
including the MechWarrior franchise) acquired by
Microsoft in 1999, WizKids (collectible games, including
HeroClix) acquired by Topps Inc. in 2003, and 42
Entertainment (alternate reality gaming). During his
career, Jordan has created some of the largest and
longest-lasting franchises in the gaming industry,
including BattleTech/MechWarrior, Shadowrun and Crimson
Skies. He has won more than 100 awards, including
election to the game designer's hall of fame by the
Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design, and in 2003,
was selected as the Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of
the Year by Ernst & Young. Jordan also serves as an
adjunct professor at University of Southern California
School of Cinematic Arts, and at the University of
Washington College of Computer Science and Engineering. |
